History

History is an essay-based subject. This subject is not just about remembering key events and dates, it will help you form a holistic view of people and events, and use background information to draw reflective conclusions, which are critical for applying to prestigious schools.

Although the syllabus and examination content of different examination bureaus are not exactly the same, the division of historical periods is similar.

According to the time dimension, the AQA divides the GCSE history course into three periods: medieval (AD 500-1500), early modern (1450-1750), modern (1700-present). If divided by country/region, it is mainly divided into British History (accounting for at least 40% of the examination content), European History and World History.

Many students consider the essay to be the most challenging part of the entire subject exam, however as the course progresses, students' writing skills will improve tremendously.
